IMPORTANT UPDATE: Application Deadline Extended!
Our contact with CBC said that we have been given an extension for the deadline to apply for the Kingdom Kids Backpack Missions Trip and the due date for paying the $200 deposit. Praise God!
The new deadline for receiving the application and the $200 deposit is September 22nd.
If you are interested in going, please follow these steps:
- Let Pastor Doug or Pastor Nathan know you are interested.
- Check your passport to ensure it is current. If it’s not, apply for one or get it renewed ASAP.

- Begin sending out support letters for raising support if you are in need of funding.
We have the privilege again this year to join Harvest Evangelistic Association and our beloved missionary Greg McClanahan for their annual Kingdom Kids Backpack outreach in Chiapas, Mexico. Almost every year we are able to send someone from our fellowship with the group from Community Bible Church out to serve with this exciting and impactful outreach.

WHY SHOULD I GO?
It is a beautiful country with beautiful people who are welcoming and open to the gospel.
WHAT ARE THE DATES OF THE TRIP?
November 25th through December 2nd
WHERE WILL WE BE WORKING?
Harvest Evangelistic Association World Missions Operations Center, San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico.
WHO WILL WE BE REACHING?
Our focus is the local people of San Cristobal de las Casas, as well as surrounding cities and villages.
WHO ARE WE WORKING WITH?
Harvest Evangelistic Association World Missions Operations Center is a training center that is the meeting place for all visiting missionaries where local students train to become missionaries in their country. You work directly with the students, teachers, staff and US missionaries stationed there.
WHAT WILL WE BE DOING?
The work is reaching out to pastors and children of the nearby cities and villages. If time permits for both, there are two field trips for visiting missionaries: To the marketplace to shop and visit a church built in the 1400s; and a boat ride to the Canyon of San Cristobal de las Casas, one of the most beautiful parts of interior Mexico, complete with alligators, monkeys and waterfalls.
WHERE ARE WE STAYING AND WHAT WILL IT BE LIKE?
Visiting missionaries stay in a very nice hotel in downtown San Cristobal de las Casas, about 10 minutes from the training center. The days are spent either at the training center or in the city or villages. All meals and transportation are provided by the training center.
HOW WILL WE GET THERE?
The training center staff will provide all your travel arrangements from the airport to the hotel to the training center and back.
DO I NEED A PASSPORT TO GO?
Your passport must have at least 6 months left on it before expiration from the day we return.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME AS A TEAM MEMBER?
Because you will be part of a team, a willing and teachable spirit is necessary, as well as patience and flexibility. To be well prepared you should plan to attend all meetings (4 or 5), which will offer valuable information about the trip, as well as familiarize you with the other team members.
WILL I BE TRAINED?
Yes, but most of what you will do is take instruction, so the training is light. Whether it is physical work on a church outside, or stacking chairs for pastors inside, a smile and a hug are universal and don’t require training. The native language is Spanish, so it’s a plus if you can speak it.
WHEN WILL WE MEET?
We will meet approximately once a week beginning 5 weeks before departure on November 25, 2018. All meetings will be at Community Bible Church.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?
The cost is $450 for airfare plus $750 for hotel, transportation and food for a total of $1,200.00. You will want to bring spending money for the marketplace field trip downtown. Do not let the cost be a deterrent…we serve a Big, Big God and He is able. Team members send out support letters for financial and prayer support. With faith, you, like all others who have gone, will be amazed how your support is covered by friends, family, co-workers and fundraisers. Have Faith!

• $200 Deposit – can be paid in cash or check or made online at the “sign up” tab mentioned above.
• Copy of your passport – can be submitted online through your application or paper copy turned in to CBC.
• Send off for your passport TODAY if you don’t already have it.
• Plan to attend ALL training meetings!
• Start working on your fundraising letters.
