Having dealt with a difficult subject previously, Paul begins in his next part of this chapter with an encouragement for these Jewish believers to be diligent to hold on to the full assurance of hope that is in Christ Jesus until the end. As Pastor Nathan explains, he does this in three ways. 1. Paul encourages them to lay hold of this full assurance of hope with the same diligence which which they love Christ; 2. He explains the unchangeableness of God’s purpose through Christ; 3. He lays out in full display Christ’s work of redemption and His credibility to accomplish that work.
