How is it that our parents often knew when we had done something wrong growing up? Here in this passage Jesus catches His disciples having discussed who would be the greatest in the kingdom of God. As Pastor Phillip explains, Jesus had just told them about His death which confused them but their minds gravitated towards thoughts of Jesus overthrowing the Romans and making prestigious positions available to them. Jesus takes this opportunity to teach them an important aspect of the culture that exists in the kingdom of God – humility.
