How do you overcome darkness, especially when it seems like it’s propagating and growing stronger? Instead of becoming discouraged and being swallowed up, you shine the light you have even brighter! Jesus in today’s message warns His disciples against the corrupting influence of the Pharisees, comparing it to leaven or yeast. Anyone who bakes bread knows that you only need a little yeast to make the bread rise and so, Jesus uses that analogy to help His disciples understand how easily their teaching spread and corrupt. But as Pastor Phillip teaches, we see Jesus instructing His disciples to simply proclaim their message loudly and for everyone to hear, and it also will have an effect on the hearts and lives of individuals.
