We traditionally celebrate Palm Sunday as a day of triumph for Christ, but was that really what it was? Pastor Phillip dives into a biblical understanding of what was taking place at the time Jesus was entering into Jerusalem, combining historical, geographical, and prophetic contexts into the narrative to give us a more comprehensive picture. He deals with the fact that there are two perspectives regarding this day: One was the lens of the disciples and much of the Jewish people at that time – that the Messiah would be a conquering king that would overcome the Romans. The second, and most important was that of God’s lens – where Jesus was going to conquer the ultimate enemy of sin through the sacrifice of His body and blood.
