In this message, Pastor Phillip continues teaching in Luke and in this morning’s sermon discusses how he believes Jesus’ illustration in verses 24-26 of the demon being cast out and returning with 7 additional spirits more wicked than itself, is actually speaking of the state of the nation of Israel at that time. Then He addresses Jesus response to the woman who spoke loudly that Mary, the mother of Jesus was blessed. Pastor Phillip goes into a very helpful breakdown of the difference between happiness and being blessed and what it means. Contrary to popular belief, being blessed does not equal circumstantial happiness but as Jesus says in this passage, hearing the Word of God and doing it, is what brings the favor of God, which is the blessing.
