I’m sure you have been in an awkward situation at some point in your life, right? In today’s passage, an awkward situation takes place while Jesus is visiting and dining with a pharisee in his home, but fails to pay Jesus the common curtesies of a guest at that time. Instead a woman who has a reputation of being sinful comes and outdoes the pharisee because of her great love for Jesus and her heart of repentance. As is revealed later, this woman came to Jesus in faith – the only way that anyone can be saved from their sin, no matter how sinful their life may be.
